7. App Permissions & Mobile Device Data Handling

Our mobile application, SH-PRO, interfaces directly with your privately hosted smart home infrastructure. To provide full smart home functionality, the app requires access to specific device capabilities. All data accessed by these permissions is processed locally on your device or transmitted securely and directly to your personal home server. We do not collect, harvest, store, or share this data on corporate servers.

  • Location Data (Including Background Location): Used to trigger automated smart home routines based on your physical presence, such as turning off appliances or activating security systems when you leave a geofenced area.
  • Camera & Photos: Access is required only if you choose to scan QR codes for quick device configuration or upload custom icons/images directly to your local smart home dashboard.
  • Microphone & Audio: Utilized strictly to enable local voice command features (such as Assist) allowing you to control your smart home devices hands-free.
  • Notifications: Used to deliver critical, real-time alerts from your smart home system (e.g., security alerts, motion detection, system status updates).
  • Local Network & Wi-Fi State: Accessed to securely discover, identify, and connect to your local smart home server when your device is connected to your home Wi-Fi network.
  • Health & Fitness Data (Health Connect): The app includes optional integration capabilities with Android Health Connect. If explicitly authorized by the user, this allows the app to securely read local fitness metrics (such as steps or activity data) solely to display them on your personal, local smart home dashboard or use them for local automation routines. No health or fitness data is ever collected, stored, or processed by our company, nor is it transmitted to any external third parties.
  • Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) & Push Tokens: The app processes a unique device push token solely to route real-time push notifications from your private home server to your mobile phone via our secure relay. Message contents are never stored on our servers.
  • Firebase Crashlytics: The app collects anonymous, non-identifiable crash logs and stack traces when an error occurs. This technical data is used purely to fix stability issues and improve app reliability.
  • Device & Sensor Telemetry: Reads local device diagnostics (such as battery state, charging status, cellular/Wi-Fi network connection, and device sensors) strictly to transmit them to your personal home server for local automations.

8. Cookies and Tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies for essential site function and analytics. You can control or block cookies through your browser settings, though some site features may not work as a result.

  • Have inaccurate information corrected
  • Have your information erased in certain circumstances
  • Restrict or object to processing
  • Data portability
  • Withdraw consent where processing relies on it

If you believe we have handled your data unlawfully, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO):

We ask that you contact us first so we can try to resolve it.

If you are based in Spain or the EEA, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (Agencia Española de Protección de Datos – AEPD) via their website at www.aebd.es.
