FAQs

A Real Smart Home connects every system in the property through a single platform, so they work together instead of as separate devices on separate apps. The system automates routine tasks and responds to the property itself, no matter the brand of the underlying equipment.

Basic voice commands aren’t a Real Smart Home. Lighting responds to presence, time of day, daylight levels, and more. That’s what makes it intelligent rather than just connected.

Control runs through our 3D Spatial Digital Twin: a live, interactive replica of the property, readable at a glance with no training required. In one view it shows lighting, climate, doors, windows, cameras, leak and fire sensors, and more, where most systems need multiple screens. It runs on smartphone, tablet, computer, or smart TV, across Android, iOS, and web.

Yes. Working with trade partners is central to how we operate. We integrate at the design stage, coordinating M&E and automation alongside your team rather than retrofitting afterward.

For new builds and major refurbishments we specify a wired KNX backbone from the outset. We handle the automation and integration so the system aligns with the architectural and design intent, with a clean handover and no disruption to your process.

Security is built in across the system. Every device works together, with real-time alerts for intrusion, water leaks, or fire. AI-powered cameras handle object recognition, improving alert accuracy and cutting false positives. Number-plate recognition can flag a vehicle arriving while the property is empty, while ignoring known cars.

On data, the system is local-first: footage and automation history stay on-site by default. We use strong encryption and secure network protocols throughout.

A Real Smart Home doesn’t depend on the internet to run. Every device connects to an on-site server, the brain of the system, so automations and control keep working during an outage.

Only internet-dependent features pause: remote access from outside the property and push notifications. Everything inside, including app control on the local network, continues as normal.

Where the project allows. On new builds and full refurbishments, we install on a wired KNX backbone: the professional open standard for building automation, which gives the best reliability and scalability.

On retrofit projects, or where KNX isn’t within budget, we deliver equivalent integration using professional-grade alternatives. SH-PRO sits on top either way, so the experience is the same regardless of the underlying infrastructure.

The automations are limited only by the brief. Some examples:

  • A single command on leaving secures the whole property: lighting and appliances off, alarm armed, doors locked, with a status check that flags anything left open and alerts your phone.
  • Climate and lighting that respond to occupancy and conditions across the property, rather than running on fixed schedules.
  • A cinema setting that dims the lighting, closes the blinds, sets the audio, and selects the source in one press.

These are a starting point. See more in our automation ideas.

We integrate what’s already there. Existing lighting, climate, entertainment, and security fold into one platform, with no need to replace working equipment.

The system unifies new and existing technology so everything runs together: lighting, audio, blinds, appliances, and EV charging, all from one interface.

Systems are built for remote troubleshooting, which removes the delay of waiting for an on-site visit. Every package includes proactive monitoring that continuously checks the property’s systems.

When something does go wrong, it’s most often an internet outage, and we’ll notify you rather than leaving you to discover it. The approach keeps the system reliable with minimal involvement on your side.

Legacy systems are well established. SH-PRO takes a different approach. The full breakdown is in our comparison guide.

What sets it apart:

Intuitive interface. Where legacy systems rely on layered menus, SH-PRO runs on a 3D Spatial Digital Twin of the property: readable at a glance, no training needed.

Universal integration. No single locked ecosystem. SH-PRO integrates across systems and brands, including equipment already installed, giving full flexibility.

Genuinely intelligent automation. Beyond timers: SH-PRO uses AI object recognition from CCTV to trigger automations, such as lighting that responds to a person but not a passing animal.

Local-first control. For reliability and privacy, SH-PRO prioritises local control. The system runs on an on-site server, so automations keep working even if the internet drops.

Infrastructure-grade engineering. Built on professional standards (KNX on new builds and major refurbishments) with enterprise networking, not consumer kit.

We work with electricians, architects, interior designers, and property developers. Depending on your role, that ranges from on-site installation partnership to early-stage M&E and automation specification on a project.

For electricians, our dedicated FAQ covers the common questions. For architects, designers, and developers, get in touch about specifying SH-PRO into your projects: we integrate from the design stage onward to protect the build and the design intent.
